HFC Curriculum

Nurturing Educational Environment

HFC is a year-round early learning and preschool program with a strong focus on preparing children for kindergarten. Each day blends structured activities with free-choice centers, encouraging developmentally appropriate play and exploration. Every child at HFC has a portfolio, enabling caregivers and teachers to track growth across academic and social-emotional skills. Our curriculum integrates music, hands-on learning, and Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences to support diverse learning styles. A dedicated STEM specialist inspires curiosity in math and science through engaging projects. In language arts, children enjoy storytelling, small-group reading, early writing activities, dramatic play that builds vocabulary and imagination, and letter recognition games that make learning letters fun and interactive. Using a Constructivist approach, we introduce letters, sounds, numbers, colors, and shapes in meaningful ways. Equally important, we emphasize social skills, community building, and conflict resolution through positive behavior guidance to help children thrive both in school and beyond.

Positive Behavior Guidance

Positive Behavior Guidance at HFC emphasizes empathy, consistency, and high expectations, creating fair and friendly strategies with our friends. This approach also teaches children self-control, responsibility, and how to learn and grow through making mistakes. HFC does not believe in “good” or “bad” children. We believe that all children are learning and exploring their world. It is our responsibility to guide this learning process by modeling positive behavior and supporting each child’s growth.
